Eco Standards

When choosing products for our store, there is a strict criterion that we always consider:  It has to be eco friendly first and foremost and it also has to be sustainable, efficient, renewable or natural.

A product like Thermafleece sheeps wool insulation encapsulates these ideals perfectly, not only is this product from a sustainable source it increases energy efficiency in the home and is provided by nature herself.

We also choose products based on quality and value for money by providing eco friendly products at more affordable prices we believe we are opening the door to people who would normally deem being green as expensive and exclusively for those on high salaries.  Not so our Eco Balls equate to as little as 3p per wash and over a 1,000 wash cycle could save the consumer as much as £200, being kind to the environment first and foremost but being kind on your wallet too. 

Our Environmental Policy

Innocent earth is a retailer of environmentally friendly products for sustainable, efficient, renewable and natural living. We are based in Yeovil in Somerset in our biased opinion one of the most picturesque counties in the UK.  We are in the process of setting up a retail outlet in Yeovil which aims to promote and inspire people into living a more sustainable way of life; we also plan to provide detailed information on energy saving in the home and sustainability in general.

Responsibility
this environmental policy applies to all of our operations including management, office services, printing, delivery and procurement. The Owner/Directors are responsible for ensuring that the policy is implemented. However all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

Objectives
During 2008 we aim to:

Work towards a completely carbon neutral business, through energy saving initiatives and carbon offsetting programmes.

Encourage all of our partners and suppliers to engage in environmental practices

Provide a true learning experience of the environment at large and the impact our daily lives and the products we sell has on it.

All innocent earth staff undertakes a number of initiatives to reduce the company’s impact on the environment:

We do not use staples and recycle/reuse all paper clips and elasticised rubber bands.

All company correspondence is printed on ellie poo paper

Turn off PC monitors when not in use

Turn off PCs and network printers every evening

All lights use energy efficient and energy saving lightbulbs

All electricity is purchased from Good Energy, a green electricity provider
